"We wanted a simple, honest and authentic-pattern handrail made up for our Victorian house refurb and Katie was recommended to us. She listened carefully to what I asked for, and delivered it exactly as envisioned, with lovely detailing. The railing uprights slotted straight into the stone work on site with high precision, which is a big ask with hand-forged work. It now looks like it's been there for 150 years, which is just what we wanted!"

"There is a real lack of quality, beautiful ironwork with a feminine twist around, Katie's work is all these things. She has such an intuitive way, she always knows exactly what design you have in mind,I have brought several pieces which I treasure and look forward to buying more, I would not hesitate to recommend Katie's work she is an exceptional blacksmith who provides high quality artistic pieces."

"Katie has crafted the most beautiful additions to our self build house - a balustrade for our galleried landing and matching stair panels. Her work has been much admired by all our visitors and we are thrilled. Katie was a joy to work with and listened carefully to what we were trying to achieve in terms of style etc. I can highly recommend her."

"With the arrival of our first  grandchild, we had to decide how to safety proof our established and asymmetrical pond. We researched the idea of a pond screen, and found some ideas in books which we liked the look of. We were very fortunate to find Katie at the Buckinghamshire Open Studios event at Claydon House - she advised us that this would be a new venture for her, and that she was very interested in undertaking it.

We began by asking Katie to make a gate for the section of garden where the pond is located. Katie produced a beautiful and highly practical gate, which has become a design feature of the garden in its own right. She and fellow blacksmith Stuart spent some time scoping out the pond, (which has uneven surfaces around the perimeter, as well as lots of foliage in the pond itself), and Katie drafted a range of designs. The screen was duly completed, and fitted by Katie and Stuart before our granddaughter was old enough to start walking independently around the garden. Both the screen and the gate are gorgeous items; and also highly practical - Katie constructed the screen in two sections, so that we can clear out the pond when required; and it is safely secured to the pond edge.

We wanted two beautiful and practical items for our garden, and this is exactly what Katie has achieved. It has been great working with Katie, for her enthusiasm, her original ideas, and for her comprehensive approach to the task. We loved that she shared her design ideas with us; and that she understood so readily what we wanted, and what was required. Both items are really good value for money, given Katie's creative and practical skills which went into their construction. We would recommend Katie with total enthusiasm!"
